The House of Culture greeted this evening of 27th of February of 2020 more than one hundred neighbors of the municipality who would like to take advantage of the Erasmus+ experience firsthand.
María A. Laviós, the European Projects Councilor, initiated the workshop by thanking the more than 120 youngsters, fathers and mothers for their assistance and for filling the assembly hall of the House of Culture of Altea.
We, the EuroAltea team, believe in bringing Europe closer to Altea and, consequently, we invest in human capital, in the formation of our youngsters into new cultures, new languages and new experiences; Europe consists of this, consists of bringing together youngsters from different countries in order to create a bond.
Throughout the evening, some of those present shared their Eramus+ experiences in other countries; activities, anecdotes, advices, points in favor and against. It´s worth mentioning the fact that all the people that participated at this workshop placed value on its great organization provided by the European Projects Office of Altea and, between laughter, recounted that the most difficult thing was adjusting to the different typical food of the other countries. The assistants weren´t the only protagonists of the workshop; Tamata Kumaritova, one of the youngsters that was enjoying a mobility in Croatia at the time, also participated at the workshop via a video call. She agreed with the rest of the youngsters and said: ¨you have to live this experience because it´s unforgettable.¨
Apart from meeting new people and learning about new cultures, one of the most important key points of this project is the language. ¨You have to talk to youngsters from other countries and you have no choice but to learn English so that you could communicate with each other¨, were commenting the students from the theater of IES Bellguarda. They all agreed that they learned English throughout their stay abroad ¨I´m sure that all of you are scared at first, but step by step you´ll start to overcome your fear; have faith in your capacities¨, was explaining Angy, the English teacher that participated at a training course within the Erasmus+ project framework.
The reunion finished with a meal at which the persons interested could exchange words with the youngsters that have already benefit from this initiative.
