The European Project Office, EuroAltea, has initiated the creation of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Plan for the municipality of Altea.
At the European level, the European Commission promotes the implementation of national CSR policies in line with EU policies, international standards and codes. Governments are facing a major social challenge due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and have to respond to the new role of business by taking into account the economic, social and environmental aspects.
Corporate Social Responsibility is a way of running companies based on the management of the impacts that their activity generates on their clients, employees, local communities, the environment and society in general. The municipality of Altea is going to develop a Corporate Social Responsibility plan that will involve citizens, companies and the council. An initiative that connects with the lessons learned from the participation of Altea in the URBACT Networks Volunteering Cities, in which the municipality participates actively through the Volunteer Panel.
The first action for the implementation of CSR is the publication of a survey addressed to the citizens of Altea. This survey can be found on the website of Altea Participa https://www.alteaparticipa.es/altea-decideix and contains 10 very short questions that will help the expert staff to prepare the plan.
