On 29 March, the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces announced the winners of the Good Governance 2020 awards. In this fourth edition, the Town Council of Altea has been awarded with the prize Management of European projects and funds by the Volunteering Panel.
Euroaltea submitted the candidacy for joining the Urbact Voluntary Cities programme, through which the Volunteering Panel has been developed in the town. Within this project, five cross-cutting themes are being worked on: participatory governance, increasing intergenerationality between young and old people, mobilising young volunteers, working on corporate citizenship and social entrepreneurship to combat unemployment.
The Good Governance Award is an award aimed at good municipal practices and its main objective is to promote the quality of public policies at local level. According to the FVMP, “it is a sign of the commitment of Valencian municipalism to achieve responsible, open and efficient local governments that meet social needs”. The official presentation of the award will take place on 30 April at an in-person gala with full security measures to be held at the Carme Cultural Centre in Valencia.
