IES Bellaguarda students stage their participation in an assembly of the European Parliament.

The students of 4th of ESO of IES Bellaguarda acted as Euro MPs and MEPs within the Ambassador Schools project in which the school participates. These students staged their participation in a parliamentary debate that took place in the auditorium of the Social Center, where the plenary sessions of the town hall of Altea are usually held.

The young people organized themselves into the different groups that make up the current European Parliament and debated the different political positions on the EU Directive 2019/904 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2019, on reducing the impact of certain plastic products on the environment.

The parliamentary debate was very enriching and was well organized by the students, culminating with the relevant vote of these young MEPs in which finally won the approval of the rule.

From EuroAltea we congratulate them and show our support in this European project Ambassador Schools of the European Parliament, which aims to stimulate knowledge of Europe and European parliamentary democracy among young people, providing them with an active knowledge of the European Union in general and the European Parliament in particular. The aim is not only to teach them about the European Union, but also to give them the opportunity to experience European citizenship.

At the moment there are already 112 Ambassador Schools that are part of the project, one of them being the IES Bellaguarda in Altea.
