New 2030 Framework and Integration of Adaptation
Mr. Jaume Llinares Cortés, Mayor President of the Municipality of Altea ratifies the Covenant of Mayors on Climate and Energy.
Commitments:
- To reduce CO2 emissions (and possibly other greenhouse gas emissions) in its territory by at least 40% by 2030, in particular through improved energy efficiency and increased use of renewable energy sources.
- Increase their resilience by adapting to the impacts of climate change.
In order to translate these commitments into action, this local government is committed to the following step-by-step approach:
Conduct a baseline emissions inventory and an assessment of climate change risks and vulnerabilities.
- Present a Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan within two years from the date of the City Council decision.
- Produce a progress report at least every two years after the submission of the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan for evaluation, monitoring and control purposes.
