Altea aligns itself with the Cohesion Alliance of the European Union, as a result of the cooperation between the European Associations and the Committee of the Regions, who solicit the budget from the European Union to be used for the development of cohesion policies that would allow the European Union to be stronger, more effective and accessible for all.
This Alliance comprises more than 12.000 signatories throughout the European Union, both within cultural organizations, universities, NGO´s as in national, regional and local administrations, have come together in order to support the cohesion policy of the European Union, a fundamental pillar for an equal and fair development of all its members.
The Alliance firmly believes in the role of the cohesion policy as a key to the expansion of the recovery programs following the crisis of the pandemic COVID-19. Likewise, “NextGeneration EU” will guarantee the funding of the majority of programs at 100% until 2022-2023, intended to improve the territorial conditions and facilitate new strategies of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, digitalisation and the European Green Deal.
Altea is betting on Euromunicipality and on a strong cohesion policy, and these are the reasons for which all the political groups from Altea have joined this declaration and this new project whose fundamental value is the cohesion of the European Union, making Altea the first municipality throughout the Community of Valencia in joining this initiative.
