Altea positioned itself as one of the eight cities of Spain that stands out thanks to its collaboration between the Town Hall and the associations. Due to this reciprocity, both parties are working hand-in-hand with the purpose of reducing the effects of the COVID-19 among the population of Altea.
Corazón Exprés, Cruz Roja Altea and DeAmicitia are the associations from Altea that comprise the European project URBACT. In February they have been awarded in Belgium for the hard work and the contribution that they brought to the city and once again, they returned to being a reference through their work during the pandemic, a pandemic that tries to dispirit us.
The three associations, in collaboration with the City Hall, undertook measures to overcome and adapt to the citizen necessities generated by the current situation of pandemic. These associations have supplied material and services to hundreds of citizens of Altea; from solidarity masks, online learning in English, food and hygiene products donations, help and support to the elderly and social care services, among others.
This collaborative work between the associations and the City Hall shows us once again the importance of the collaboration between the administration and the associations for the well-being of all citizens.
