OPE (Oficina de Proyectos Europeos) EuroAltea gathers periodically with URBACT Local Group (el Grupo de Acción Local) “Ciudades Voluntarias” with the aim of empowering the local associations and promoting volunteering, as a strategy for the enhancement of the social cohesion in the city. This project consists of work reunions with volunteers and associations from other countries. During these reunions they share good practice when it comes to the promotion of volunteering and citizen participation.
Meeting in Poland
EuroAltea, in collaboration with the Bienestar Social department and other members of the project “URBACT Volunteering Cities”, gathered in Poland, on 25th and 26th of July of 2019, with the representatives of the cities of Radlin (Poland), Athienou (Cyprus), Capizzi (Italy), Altena (Germany), Pregrada (Croatia), Arcos de Valdevez (Portugal) and Kildare (Ireland), with the aim of continuing with the promotion strategy and enhancement of juvenile and intergenerational volunteering in the cities above-mentioned.
Meeting in Croatia
EuroAltea participated in the Urbact programme (Croatia) held on the 10th and 11th of October of 2019. The project ‘Volunteering Cities’ tried to approach social exclusion and poverty within the community by sharing good practice and experiences with other cities. In this case, this was the third event celebrated on a European scale. At the above-mentioned event participated the associations from Altea that are part of the local work group of Urbact.
Intergenerational culinary workshop in Altea
On the 31st of august and the 2nd of September of 2020 took place the Intergenerational culinary workshop organised by the Urbact group: Volunteering cities, attended by different departments of Altea Town Hall like Juventud, Proyectos Europeos, Participación Ciudadana and Bienestar Social, apart from the Corazón Exprés, Cruz Roja and DeAmicitia associations.
The Urbact culinary workshop, which is free for the assistants, aims to improve the relationships between youngsters and the elderly people of the municipality, starting from a culinary workshop where they will have to prepare two main courses and two desserts. The activity will be led by a professional cook.
